Flag Beach Kitesurf Center
Flag Beach from the road on a nice day
First opened in 1988 as windsurf centre, Flag Beach started teaching kitesurfing in 1999 and was the 1st kite school to open in the Canaries.
The wind is predominately cross shore from the left and picks up around midday and then blows through to 8pm or later. The best months are from April-September with a monthly average of 20-26 days with 15 knots +. Flag Beach itself is a 400m long beach with reefs at both ends and a deep water reef about 200m offshore. The beach is divided up between kitesurfers on the left and upwind and windsurfing in the middle and downwind of the kite zone.
There is a rescue service run by Flag Beach Kitesurf Centre that costs 30 euros for unlimited rescues during 15 days and you should sign up beforehand. They also have all levels of courses and are 1 of the 2 IKO centres in the north of Fuerteventura.
