Key West Kiting

by John
(Vancouver)

I was in Key West 3 weeks ago. Very expensive place to be... (60$ per night for tent spot!) and pretty much everything is expensive but there is more wind than anywhere else in Florida. We left from Orlando and did not get any wind until Key west. Jupiter beach and Cocoa beach close to Orlando are suppose to be good spots (on river and ocean) but no wind when we were there. For Key West, you have one public beach for east and south wind but with west and north wind, you have to take a ride out on a boat for 60$ to the Flats of key west a few mile off shore. Once there, you ride on a few km large flat of 3 feet deep water.
